PIE graph

Today my class and I had to create our own graph and collect data from some sort of subject. We had to collect data, find information, and make it into a graph. I created a pie chart showing the gold medals won so far in the Olympics. Something I found challenging was finding real information and creating the graph

Ancient marshmallows and pasta.

Today my class and I about parthenon in Greek mythology. We split into 4 groups and we had to work out how to build a structure that was strong and tall enough to withstand our teachers earthquake.

My team first shared our knowledge with structure and shapes that we thought would be strong for impact. We used some of our knowledge from the book called “Ancient but Earthquake proof”.

We started by making our base as a triangle and we ended up just free styling because we were not the best at using our 4 Cs. We ended up at the end with a rectangular triangle that would withstand the earthquake.

We learned a lot of things that not everything is about height, it is about the structure of how you made it. We also learned that using the 4 Cs can help a lot with our teamwork which can make the process of making our structure faster. I think this was a very fun competition and challenge for us that put our brains to the test.

Chicken.

Yesterday, we had to write a paragraph describing our favourite or most hated food. We had to include certain language features like similes and repetition. I chose to write about my favourite thing to eat, chicken.

My Room

My Room

The thick and strong Linx, fills my room, trapped with nowhere to go. My colourful anime posters covering my bright white walls making my room not as boring as it was. My black framed window and my mini table carrying all my favourite board games. My orange circled patterned furry blanket tucked in to my small white bed also holding my puffy comfy pillow. My dark draws with grey metal knobs with some of my decorative stickers making it complete. I also always admire my very detailed anime figurines that sit on my very dusty dressing tabletop.

My $200 dollar note.

In my $200 dollar note, I chose My favourite rugby player Richie McCaw to represent my $200 dollar note.  I also chose to use certain patterns like the one on the left side of the note representing the staircase to heaven. I also used a kiwi and a Maori patterned circle for the back of my note representing the bird side of it. I wrote down a number code on the side and a message named ” New Zealand Aotearoa” making my $200 dollar note complete.
